Laura Part One: Surviving as a Scottish “gypsy” girl
Laura is a Survivor. In part one of this two-part episode, Laura shares the heartbreak of growing up as a “gypsy” girl in Scotland at the hands of an abusive father, being prostituted to raise money for the family and left with the undeserved responsibility of caring for her siblings at a very young age.
Experiencing the injustice of being robbed of her childhood because her father and other relatives abused her and “sent her out” to get money for the family, and ultimately having autonomy over her own body stripped from her.
